Our site was a pull straight in site facing the river with the constant sounds of water rushing by. It was roomy enough for our 37′ rig with four slides and the toad parked behind it. We had the grassy park area on one side of us with large tree’s – which was nice. That area has a small beach. The park was pretty good sized and quite full, but was quiet at night. We had a picnic table but no fire ring. I think we could have requested one be delivered, but we didn’t need one so it was not a big deal.

We were the only tent there but there were lots of RV’s. Campground is very quiet and close to Sequoia National Park. It is in a nice location and staff is friendly. Shares 47 Travel dates: Gettysburg, though, has an abundance of close, well reviewed campgrounds, and we had a little trouble making up our minds which one to try. Which is a nice problem to have, of course. In the end, we went with Gettysburg Campground because…. But, at any rate, we were mostly pleased with our choice. Gettysburg Campground is a big, bustling place with tons of amenities and activities, and even an onsite RV repair place.
We were here for two nights midweek in the middle of June. One interesting thing to note is that check-out time here is 2: Good Sam discount offered. And some quirks of our particular site are the only real issues we had with the campground.

River Park Campground and dump station will be closed June , due to a special event but the Park will remain open to the public. Park Reservation Form River Park consists of 45 developed acres and is a linear park which lies adjacent to the Santa Ynez River on the eastern border of Lompoc. The only entrance into this regional park is located just east of Robinson Bridge on Highway and Sweeney Road.
This picturesque park lies against the backdrop of the Santa Ynez River on the west and active agricultural fields to the west. It’s impossible to take it all in during a single day, and lakeside campgrounds across the region provide numerous places to spend a night — or many nights — out in the wild.
Folsom Lake State Recreation Area maintains four campgrounds within the park: Peninsula Campground: Campsites on the peninsula between the North and South Forks of the American River. Beals Point Campground: 69 Campsites on the west shore just north of the dam.
Sites can be on the lake, in the woods or near other campsites, depending on the size of the campground. Tent sites may often have a small electrical hookup, but most of the time, it will be a basic site with a picnic table and firepit. RV and travel trailer sites can have much more. These sites can have shaded awnings, full electric, water and sewer hookups, cable TV, a fire pit and picnic table.
RV parks and resorts, designed solely for RV will be the highest in terms of quality when it comes to camping. These resorts will have cable TV, Internet access, full hook-ups, laundry and nice restroom setups than most campgrounds. State parks, like a national park, will have the most basic amenities, but some may have electric and the occasional water hookup. Most state parks will offer a simple restroom facility, along with a fresh water station and RV dump station.
Another common campground option are state fairgrounds. Many cities will have fairground RV Parking with or without the basic hookups. Some campgrounds may have a small convenience store with basic necessities. What are the extra costs?
